The CommitBrief CLI is a local program and does not use cookies at all. ## Browser storage we use Two small pieces of browser storage make the site work a little better. Neither identifies you, and neither is sent to us or to anyone else. ### `gh-stars:CommitBrief/commitbrief` - **Type:** `localStorage` - **Purpose:** caches the GitHub star count shown in the header, so your browser does not ask GitHub on every page view. - **Lifetime:** the cached count is refreshed after 5 minutes; the entry stays until you clear site data. ### `commitbrief:thank-you-shown` - **Type:** `sessionStorage` - **Purpose:** remembers that the thank-you dialog was shown after you copied an install command, so it appears at most once per session. - **Lifetime:** until you close the tab. ## How to refuse or remove them Clear this site's data in your browser settings, or block site data for `commitbrief.com`. Nothing breaks: without the cache your browser asks GitHub for the star count on every page load instead of once every five minutes, and the thank-you dialog may appear again after the next copy. ## Changes If the site ever starts using cookies or new storage, this page will be updated first and the "Last updated" date above will change.
